While at my House of Prayer, the Lord was speaking to me about compassion! We pray every day for this Treasure Coast to be saved, healed, and delivered, and we see in scriptures how sometimes it takes the heart of a shepherd to go out into the wilderness to find the one that is lost to bring them back to the safe place! But what would make a shepherd leave 99 sheep to go get the 1 who is lost? One with a heart like David, the King Shepherd! A man after God’s own heart. Definition of Compassion To empathize with someone who is suffering and feel compelled to reduce the suffering Compassion involves feeling another person's pain and wanting to take steps to help relieve their suffering. The word compassion itself derives from Latin and means "to suffer together." Isn’t that beautiful? This is the Gospel message and the foundation of the New Testament! Jesus came to become a man to suffer together with us to truly understand and know our human condition but He took it one step further! He took death upon the cross for us so we would not suffer the penalty for sin in eternal separation from the Father. And now we who are filled with the Spirit of the Lord have access to this same compassion. There is coming a move of the Spirit upon our hearts in such a way, that Acts 1:8 will become a reality to many! A selfless sacrificial love like nothing our current church age has experienced, becoming One with sacrificial love! Throughout His life, the scriptures reveal His heart of compassion for others which was the very needful precursor to all the miracles He performed. When the Lord saw the widow whose son had died, He felt compassion for her, and said to her, “Do not weep.” Then He touched the casket and said the man, “Arise Luke 7 And Jesus called His disciples to Him, and said, “I feel compassion for the people, because they have remained with Me now three days and have nothing to eat; and I do not want to send them away hungry, for they might faint on the way.” Matthew 15:32 When He went ashore, He saw a large crowd, and felt compassion for them and healed their sick. Matthew 14:14 Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes; and immediately they regained their sight and followed Him. Matthew 20:34 When Jesus went ashore, He saw a large crowd, and He felt compassion for them because they were like sheep without a shepherd; and He began to teach them many things. Mark 6:34 There is upon us a fresh baptism of compassion to go out and get the ones who are lost who cannot get back in their own; those who have wandered too far to find their way and have fear separating them from returning! Those who maybe believe that where they are now and who they are with are safer than the One coming to find them! If you have ever had a cat get lost, you know they become feral very quickly, so blinded by their natural instinct to stay under that shed, making us have to sometimes drag them out and carry them home. Many will never come to your church service, encounter, or home group. Not because they do not want to be saved but because of the blinding power of fear and intimidation. The story of Jesus raising the dead son speaks so clearly of the power He has given us to raise those who are spiritually dead who have fallen asleep in their faith, to touch that coffin, whatever it is that has them enclosed, and speak LIFE, and shout, “Arise! Wake up sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you”✨ So Lord we ask for Your compassion to flow through us to those who You have given us! I pray for us all to experience a fresh infilling of compassion, with the heart of the Father, and the mind of Christ, with boldness to COMPELL us out into the places the lost sheep have wandered 🐑 🏃🏻‍♂️ Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends❤️‍🔥
