Josh McKinney is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Kyle Watson and has been training BJJ for 15 years. He started BJJ at 14 years old and even coined the term designated winner to teach Brazilian jiu-jitsu techniques in a way that used games and specific intensity levels. Josh currently has two BJJ academies under him called Headnod HQ Granite City and Jerseyville.

In this episode, Josh will be discussing his jiu-jitsu journey, starting BJJ at a young age, coaching kids during competition, his competition journey, who should and shouldn't compete, how his mindset has shifted in his years of competing, having your significant other training BJJ under you, how to use the designated winner to beginners, and more.
