What are pet peeves?
A peeve is an annoyance and is often nurtured like a pet—it is something a person cannot resist complaining about (or talking about like they do their pet). A pet peeve is something a person finds annoying or irritating. These behaviors may involve disrespect, rudeness, poor manners, communication issues, poor social skills, and even relationship issues. If something drives you crazy and you have to talk about, it’s a pet peeve. Remember, pet peeves are often smaller issues and not larger issues, like terrorism or acts of violence.
