Israeli troops on alert for possible Lebanon ground incursion

The prospect of an Israeli ground incursion in Lebanon has been raised by one of the country's top military generals. Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces Herzi Halevi has told troops near the country's border that constant airstrikes in Leabnon's south is to allow them to prepare for a possible ground entry.

In retaliation, Hezbollah has fired dozens of rockets into Israel including - what it claims - was a ballistic missile at the headquarters of Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency in Tel Aviv.
