ณ ป่าใหญ่ที่อุดมสมบูรณ์ สัตว์ที่อยู่ในป่าแห่งนี้อยู่ร่วมกันอย่างมีความสุข เพราะป่าเขียวชอุ่มไปด้วยต้นไม้ น้ำในลำธารไหลเย็น สิงโตเจ้าป่าดูแลสัตว์ทุกตัวเป็นอย่างดี ใครเดือนร้อนสิงโตก็จะเข้าไปช่วยเหลือและดูแลเป็นอย่างดี แต่ตอนนี้สิงโตเจ้าป่าก็เริ่มอายุมากขึ้น มันรู้สึกกังวลใจว่าหากมันไม่อยู่แล้วใครจะมาเป็นผู้ดูแลสัตว์ในป่าแทนมันได้บ้าง สิงโตเจ้าป่าจึงให้นกกาไปป่าวประกาศว่า หากใครอยากเป็นเจ้าป่าขอให้สมัครเข้ามาฝึกฝนวิชาการเป็นผู้นำ เสือน้อย และ หนูจี๊ด จึงเข้ามาสมัครหลังจากนั้นสิงโตจึงได้ถ่ายทอดการเป็นผู้นำให้กับทั้งสองจนครบถ้วน ใครจะได้เป็นเจ้าป่าแทนสิงโตติดตามได้ในรายการพระอาทิตย์ยิ้มแฉ่ง
