In this week's episode we have Margeaux Thomas, Founder and Managing Attorney of The Thomas Law Office headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia! Their goal is to assist business owners in establishing a legal foundation and resolving disputes with their clients, vendors, and business partners so they can focus on growing their business and fulfilling their mission. Margeaux was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio she loved playing basketball growing up and learning many life lessons through sports. She stayed in Ohio for undergrad and what brought her to the Washington, DC area was attending law school at Catholic University. After law school she went into big law and focusing on civil litigation, she worked at two different law firms for around 7-8 years before starting her own law firm. She shares how it was starting her law firm and networking, creating relationships to building her book of business, it is also about working on the business and not only in the business. We go deep into commercial real estate leases and gives a business lesson on Partnerships 101 you do not want miss. Margeaux mentions how having mentors was essential, she has learned a lot through mentorship. She shares what her goals are, one being to have her law firm run without her always being there and I share how The DMV Business Show was started. In her free time she loves gardening and children nutrition, and has great advice on how to grow food! She mentions how significant it is to listen to your inner voice, and not muffle it but instead encourage it!
