Der dem linken Flügel des Zentrums zugehörige Reichskanzler Joseph Wirth hielt anlässlich der Ermordung seines Außenministers Walther Rathenau durch Mitglieder der deutsch-völkischen "Organisation Consul" - heute würde man sie Rechtsradikale nennen - eine aufrüttelnde Rede im Reichstag.
