Champel was established in 2017 with a focus on investing in deep tech. Deep Tech covers disruptive technologies based on scientific discoveries that have a significant impact on our lives. To date, their largest exits have been unicorn Lemonade in the insurtech space which IPO’d for approx $4 billion, and Innoviz which creates lidar systems for autonomous vehicles.
In this interview, we go into detail on the future of autonomous cars, how they improve safety and how long adoption might take. We also discuss how Lab-Grown will eventually be cheaper than farm-grown meat and how Lemonade disrupted the insurance sector by reducing insurance fraud.
