Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. We’re a full house in the studio on this episode of Maed in India, with the 6 members of contemporary folk fusion band Abhanga Repost joining Mae this week! The group revives traditional Marathi abhangas or devotional poems of saints from Maharashtra, into contemporary renditions . Along with performing three special abhangas, they also tell Mae about how they came together, their process of finding abhangas and reimaging them, and their experience of performing on the Pandharpur Wari pilgrimage.
