On this week's episode of True Crime New England, Katie and Liz take a deep dive into the life of William Sarmento, a deeply troubled and extremely mentally ill man whose whole childhood and teenage years were marked by strange behavior and impulsivity. As he grew older, more situations began to unfold around him, from being institutionalized several times to threatening a younger boy with a knife over a bicycle. When William was just 21-years-old in the winter of 1987, he killed two little boys in Rhode Island just a month apart from one another. As a result of his mental illness, William was found not guilty by reason of insanity and is still living his days in a mental institution in Cranston, Rhode Island. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/truecrimene/support
