Transgender and gender diverse surgeons face a myriad of challenges in the workforce due to social, structural, and institutional gender-binary paradigms. An opportunity exists for medical schools, surgical residency programs, fellowships, state organizations, and others, to recruit, sponsor, advocate, and retain transgender and gender diverse persons in surgery. Join us in this podcast interview with leading expert, Dr. Liem Snyder (Pronouns: They/Them) to learn about the current barriers, challenges, and opportunities for surgical leaders to promote and advocate for individuals identifying as transgender and gender diverse in surgery and thus diversifying the surgical workforce.
