Readin' Writin' Reason Special Edition: The Assassination Attempt of Donald Trump
Manage episode 429741280 series 1511393
Dom Giordano, WPHT host and former teacher, has dedicated much of his daily show toward parents who are taking it into their own hands to push back against school boards that have a negative impact on their children. This has culminated in a weekly podcast on education, Readin', Writin', and Reason, which has allowed wonderful relationships to develop between Giordano, educators, and parents throughout the country who are speaking out against overbearing school boards.
This week, in a very special edition of Readin' Writin' and Reason, Dom offers up a focus on the historical events of last weekend, the assassination attempt on Donald Trump's life.
First, Dom welcomes in Combat Veteran Captain Sean Parnell, Trump advisor and host of BattleGround on Rumble, on to hear his first-hand account of hear the bullet crack over his head as he watched Trump get shot on Saturday. Parnell provides an incredibly candid first-hand account of the events as they unfolded, telling how close he was to being struck, and offering his military expertise on the ultimate failings of the Secret Service. Also, Parnell offers his role as a first-hand witness to address questions that have been raised by conspiracy theorists online. (Photo by Anna Moneymaker/Getty Images)
Then, Dom welcomes former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund, author of Courage Under Fire: Under Siege and Outnumbered 58 to 1 on January 6th. Sund wears his hat as somebody who worked in conjunction with the Secret Service on a daily basis to break down the decisions made by the Secret Service and leader Kimberly Cheatle that led to the unsafe environment. Also, Sund tells what should have been done, and tells why he thinks this should be treated with the same vigor as investigations into January 6th.
Finally, Dom welcomes Colonel Allen B. West in to gather his thoughts, as a lauded military expert, on the failings of the United States Secret Service during the attempt on Donald Trump’s life. First, West offers his analysis on the decision to not place a sniper on the roof that the assassin used, telling that there’s absolutely no reason for there not to be somebody posted there with the direct line of sight to Trump. Then, West wears his hat as a former Congressman, offering why he doesn’t think there’s a planned conspiracy here, but rather an abject failure by the Secret Service. Finally, West, who’s faced unfair criticism for comments taken out of context in the past, offers his thoughts on the refusal for the media to hold themselves accountable for their inflammatory rhetoric in the past.
