In this episode of Apprenticeship 2.0, Joe and Kiko chat with Paul D. Steiner, the Administrator for Virginia’s Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) Adult and Community Education (ACE); and Joseph Wolfe, an Electrical Apprenticeship Instructor for FCPS ACE and an Electrical Construction and Engineering Instructor at FCPS’ Edison Academy. Together, they discuss FCPS ACE’s apprenticeship program and the impact it has had on the community. Paul and Joseph break down current and future growth opportunities for the skilled trades and what that positive outlook means for FCPS ACE’s apprenticeship program, students, employers, and the greater region. They also get into what motivates them and the challenges they face as an administrator and instructor in skilled trades, including the need to still overcome common misconceptions, and much more.
