Click here to send a text to Christian and Doug Join us for a rollicking ride through the lively world of Family Jeeps and other 4x4 adventures. We kick things off with a sprinkle of humor, discussing why the Jeep is the ultimate rental car and setting the stage for our nostalgic journey into the heart of Jeep and Land Cruiser culture. Our guest Megan shares touching family car tales that remind us of the deep bonds formed over shared steering wheels and hand-me-down rides. Christian and Doug wax poetic about our personal Jeep adventures—from the sandy shores of Florida to the patriotic pride of Doug's 1994 Jeep Wrangler Olympic-edition, Megan jumps in with her own vibrant Jeep story. Her father’s CJ-7 was replaced for "The Kids Jeep" for her two brothers and eventually served as the backdrop to her early driving days, fueling her lifelong passion for these iconic vehicles. We navigate through the evolution of Jeep tops and the trials of keeping vintage cars on the road, celebrating the specialists who keep the Jeep legacy alive. Megan’s journey, from mastering stick shifts to cherishing Jeep camaraderie, underscores the timeless allure and tight-knit community that Jeep enthusiasts revel in. But our exploration doesn’t stop at cars; we also steer towards the impactful work Megan does with Talbot Hospice in Maryland, where she coordinates volunteers and treasures the wisdom of the elderly. Her heartfelt stories remind us of the importance of community and the power of giving back. About Talbot Hospice: Talbot Hospice is located in Easton on the Eastern Shore of MD, and provides compassionate care, comfort and support to patients and their families in Talbot County. (I am the Volunteer Coordinator, not that you need to say that but in case you want to.) This weekend is the annual Festival of Trees which raises money for Talbot Hospice. The Gold Room at the beautiful, historic Tidewater Inn in downtown Easton is converted into a winter wonderland from Saturday, 11/30 – Tuesday, 12/3 with fifty beautifully decorated trees sponsored by individuals and local businesses. Throughout the event, there will be entertainment performed by local singing groups and musicians, and Carols by Candlelight on Saturday evening has become a highlight of the festival. Families can enjoy a night out together with a festive outdoor marketplace filled with local craft and food vendors to celebrate the season.
