Countries have introduced a range of measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Physical distancing measures may have adverse consequences on health, and these may be more pronounced in certain population groups. This means that the measures introduced in response to the pandemic may increase health inequalities. Alastair Leyland and Anna Pearce from the MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit, University of Glasgow, talk to Vittal Katikireddi (from the same Unit) about his recent publication (led by Margaret Douglas, University of Edinburgh) “Mitigating the wider health effects of covid-19 pandemic response”.
