S2E05_President Ahmed Announces Shift in Party Affiliation at State of the Union Address
Manage episode 273245727 series 2797332
Last night at the start of her State of the Union address, President Halima Ahmed formerly announce the decision to flip her national political affiliation from the Social Reform Party over to the Islamic National Party. And with that surprise public announcement, the President went on to detail how the shift in political parties will require some adjustments in administration policy and agenda. Ahmed stressed that her Medicare Embrace program would remain a top priority; but the Islamic National platform held a slightly different view in regard to education funding and federal employment opportunities. The opinions regarding these programs by the new third party are that individuals should use their own personal initiative when seeking financial assistance for meeting higher education goals; private scholarships, family sources, and low interest loans should be the first option. If those alternatives are not available to the individual, government funding is acceptable and should be available as a safety net. Islamic Nationals also believe the private economy should be the principal driving force in creating new jobs for the workforce. The party believes in a leaner government; and over the course of time, the Congress could reduce excessive spending by eliminating misappropriations and duplication of agency functions. However, the party is opposed to the rapidly approaching balance budget mandate. Party leaders stress that the directive will require the sudden elimination of entitlements which citizens need to survive in today’s economy.
