Des planétologues ont utilisé le télescope Webb pour analyser la composition des anneaux de Saturne, ainsi que quatre de ses petites lunes (Épiméthée, Pandora, Télesto et Pallène). Les spectres dans le proche infra-rouge obtenus avec NIRSpec et MIRI révèlent une composition quasi pure en glace d'eau cristalline. Ils publient leur étude dans Journal of Geophysical Research:Planets.
