As harvest continues across the nation, farmers are already looking forward to opportunities for improvement in the coming year. In this week’s episode, we bring you important conversations and updates. Along with our weekly market insights and top agriculture news, we’ll cover weather trends and predictions as we head into the fall and winter months. This week’s ag news includes USDA updates, the impact of Hurricane Helene on crops like cotton and Christmas trees, and more about trends in ag tractor sales including 19% decline in September. We’ll also discuss ongoing talks about the Farm Bill. In other top stories, we cover how Pure Prairie Poultry abruptly cut ties with its contracted poultry growers and how one of the many checkoff organizations is utilizing Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals. Plus, you’ll hear from our co-host Tanner, who shares his passion for sports! We have two interviews lined up this week. First, we’ll hear from the team at Redstar, a company specializing in fertilizers and seeds. They’ll explain why certain crop diseases, not seen in the Midwest for over a decade, may be reappearing. They’ll also offer insights on preparing your fields for next year, with a focus on nitrogen management. A special thanks to Redstar team members Tom Stanton, John Person and Coltin Schachtner for joining the Ag News Daily Podcast and sharing their expertise. In another interview, we take a closer look at Geringhoff’s new product, the XFR 50. This equipment has been field-tested for several years to ensure it meets farmers' needs. Developed with global expertise, the engineering work comes from Geringhoff’s team in Germany. Hear from Geringhoff’s Director of Sales for North America, Craig Lee, and President of the North America division, Bill Dickhut, as they discuss the product’s flexibility and the steps the team takes to ensure its suitability for farmers worldwide. Follow us daily with agriculture content on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube in addition to our weekly videos!
