Jer$ey Label: Trauma City Music Why the name Jer$ey: Jer$ey wanted to represent for his family. His foundation began in El Thalm, Jamaica with his mother and branched to the U.S. He has deep roots in New Jersey. He began using NJ Swag as a gamer tag and eventually it shortened into Jer$ey. Naturally when he began making music like several other members of his family… Jer$ey stuck Music Type: Melodic, Mild trap influence, Soulful, New age Rap/R&B, Afro beat and Island Vibes How did it start: Music was a passion of Jer$ey’s from a young age as he grew up in a musical household. Music was always playing in the background of his home. His brother (Eleigh) also creates music with a heavy Jamaican cadence. Jer$ey was discovered by Jayson (Space) Warren while working in a warehouse reciting songs from popular artist. Space owns Trauma City Music and works as the engineer. Space invited Jer$ey to “hit the booth” and the two haven’t looked back since. Influences: Tory Lanez, MIchael Jackson, Juice Wrld, Travis Scott, and Eleigh What makes Jer$ey different: Jer$ey stated that he doesn’t follow trends. He says that the prominent music amongst his peer group in the Winchester, VA area is Trap which is drug fueled and money is the primary topic. JerSey’s music is an assortment of traditional trap plus but often branches into other aspects of life such as love, love lost, pain, sensuality, or party bounces.
