After all our talking, all our singing, what happens to the world when; deep down religious people are just as panicked and filled with the fears of the day as the society around us? What does that say about what we truly believe? If your faith doesn’t protect you from the fear of life, what good is it? Fear is a punishment. Is the death of body the alter at which everything truly bows? Do we even believe in the existence of spirit anymore? Is safety our one true God? “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:28 “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” 1 John 4:18 “Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” 2 Cor 3:17 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.” Matthew 5:13
