Every child is a great leader in the making. It is up to us, the parents and teachers, to shape the child. And we can do this correctly, or in a way that has disastrous consequences, both for the child and society.
No one says it like the Zulu people: there is an old isiZulu saying that "the bull is among the calves", which means that among any group of children, there are leaders waiting to emerge.
This is a summary of my keynote at the Department of Basic Education Summit in Johannesburg.
