Ecclesiastes 2:24-26 A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, 25 for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment? 26 To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Romans 8:25-27 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. 26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. Ecclesiastes 2:17 So I hated life, because the work that is done under the sun was grievous to me. All of it is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

Ecclesiastes 2:18 I hated all the things I had toiled for under the sun, because I must leave them to the one who comes after me.

Repeat after me:

We cast out the spirit of instant gratification in Jesus name.

Lord we will give you time to speak to our hearts.

We will avoid responding to impulses.

Lord we will not give into muscle memory.

Lord point out to all of us in our lives where we are seeking instant gratification instead of you.

I declare that I have impulse control

I can wait for answers in faith

I do not need to feed my flesh with instant gratification.

I understand that all forms of instant gratification are meaningless without you Lord.
