In the quiet town of Seguin, Texas, a grim discovery was made on December 14th, 2002. Firefighters responding to an apartment blaze uncovered a scenario more sinister than they could have anticipated: the charred remains of 21-year-old Japanese exchange student, Mikiko Kashura. Investigators quickly discovered someone had strangled her to death before her murder. Who killed Mikiko? Join Arlene and Leah as they walk through the clues the killer left behind.
Another arson case haunted Texas in 2007. Linda Muegge, a recently divorced Fredrickson, Texas resident with a small business, "The Peasant Kitchen," returned home from her ritual of evening yoga when an assailant attacked her and lit her apartment on fire. Was it her ex-husband, a stalker, or a stranger?
Murderers often use fire to cover up their crimes. In the case of Leon Laurales, his murderers set his car on fire to burn evidence. In these cases, we see a similar pattern.
Join Arlene and Leah for another exploration of Texas cold cases.
