Karel Vejmelka made 49 saves as the Canes lost to the Utah Hockey Club, 4-1. Not only did the Hurricanes pump 50 shots at the Utah goaltender, but they also wasted 11 minutes of 3rd period power play time. Pyotr Kochetkov takes the loss allowing 3 of the 4 Club goals. It was his first "L" in 3 weeks having won his last 7 starts. Worrying is that it appeared he might have injured himself on the goal that gave Utah the lead for good in the 3rd period.
