In Stave 4 of "A Christmas Carol," a hooded phantom, the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, leads Scrooge through ominous scenes of death and despair, including a heartless businessman's demise, a sordid pawn shop, a family relieved by a man's death, and the Cratchit household mourning Tiny Tim. Desperate for answers, Scrooge is ultimately horrified to discover his own grave. Filled with remorse, he pleads with the ghost for redemption, promising to embrace the spirit of Christmas. As Scrooge begs for mercy, the phantom dissolves, leaving him back in his bed, shaken by the night's revelations.
