ChainBytes partnered with Lehigh University to bring some of the best minds together to solve the issue of fair coffee. For many years, workers within the coffee bean industry in El Salvador have been left unpaid due to the corruption of the industry, consequentially removing El Salvador from the coffee map for the big acquirers who are putting effort into being socially responsible. Halting the economy of El Salvador, which historically relied on its exports from the coffee industry. Our solution to this is a blockchain-based system of payments, ensuring irrefutable and public payments for workers' wages - making it impossible to hide any form of underpayment and giving irrefutable evidence to big socially aware coffee buyers' the confidence needed to come back to the El Salvador market.
