If you are an avid reader who loves summer and everything that comes with it, you’ve probably heard of Elin Hilderbrand. A prolific author and New York Times #1 bestseller, Elin is known as the “Queen of the Beach Reads” and has written twenty-nine novels since 2000, most of which take place on the island that has been her home since 1994: Nantucket. Her thirtieth and final book Swan Song comes out this June, although there is undoubtedly still more to come in Elin’s career. In this episode, we talk about what made her fall in love with Nantucket, her creative process as an author, and her tips for getting the work done.
Don’t miss this interview where we discuss:

  • Elin’s summer trips to Cape Cod throughout her childhood, and how losing her father when she was 16 motivated her to recapture the joy she felt during those summers
  • The story behind Elin’s decision to write her novels about Nantucket, her first book deals, and how confidence walks hand-in-hand with humility
  • How the key to writing any story is to draw from your own life experiences, and Elin’s advice to aspiring authors
  • Maintaining self-discipline, setting daily goals for yourself, and how oftentimes the hardest part is just getting started
  • Elin’s plans for her future projects, starting her podcast Books Beach and Beyond, and what it’s like to write a book with her daughter
