Harold is a military vet who served in the United States military in the early 70's. His struggle with PTSD (or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) affected him for 50 years until he found the world of CNC routers and making CNC projects with his Next Wave Shark HD 520 CNC router. CNC routers gave him something to occupy his mind with something to look forward to, and in his words, "finding a purpose". When we have something to look forward to, PTSD and depression are diminished. Many cope with PTSD for years and are not sure how to cope with it or overcome PTSD. I am no expert on PTSD, and Harold taught me more about it than I ever knew. I have learned that PTSD is not just a factor of military experiences. But can be from any traumatic incident in life, such as losing a child, a car accident, witnessing something violent, an abusive relationship, etc. But there are many forms of PTSD, and the symptoms are far and wide. But I personally feel anything that can give someone purpose will lessen the feeling of I'm not good enough or even suicidal thoughts. Many former military personnel has turned to CNC machines for 'PTSD therapy'. Even those who served in law enforcement, EMS and those who served on fire departments.
