In this episode, Allan sits down with Head Distiller Jake Walish of the Northern Waters Distillery located in Minocqua, Wisconsin. Recorded onsite, this space has a beautiful tasting room and has incredible lake views - a perfect spot to share some whiskey and learn more about the craft in the North Woods. Jake shares his own personal story and how Northern Waters makes their craft whiskey so unique.
The area is a combination of the old and the new. It is generations of families embracing the tradition of a cabin on the lake. The kids, parents, and grandparents, all together in one place. Minocqua, and the surrounding area, have long enjoyed the history of its founders. Lumber barons and pioneers embraced the local culture, all while tastefully blending in the refinements that are born in more urban settings.
