In this podcast I talk about how fiction and film can be used to raise consciousness about honor-based crimes and violence against women. I hope this will be useful to my students who study this topic and useful to anybody, who is interested in exploring the themes of honor crimes and violence against women in their film and book discussion groups.

Recommended literary texts:

“Resho Agha”, a short story by Turkish author Bekir Yildiz. An Anthology of Modern Turkish Short Stories. Edited by Fahir İz. Published by Bibliotheca Islamica in 1990.
