Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. The always amazing Carerra & Tavares were tasked with curating a line-up for an edition of Promise Cherry Beach and they chose me to open. To me, opening is like a summoning of sorts – an opening of a portal, of a container, of a gateway to a place that we all enter then later leave feeling nourished by music, dance, and community. I think you'll feel that energy in this set. I had a blast and was surrounded by friends who have been the most amazing supporters along the way.
