Jonathan Cheng, China bureau chief of The Wall Street Journal, discusses how the year has unfolded from his vantage point as a foreign correspondent based in Beijing. Jon shares how he first learned about a new coronavirus emerging from Wuhan and sent his team of reporters to the front lines. He discusses with Prof. Peter Maillet how WSJ covered the pandemic while his American reporting team faced expulsion from China.
