Med sin sextiotalsfärgade soulpop blev Jackie Mere en av de mest hyllade debutanterna 2023. Hon nominerades i kategorin "årets nykomling" på Grammisgalan och "framtidens artist" på P3 Guld. Jackie föddes i Stockholm men flyttade med sin mor till Biskopsgården i Göteborg där hon vantrivdes. Redan som elvaåring började hon sjunga och spela gitarr på gatan för att få fickpengar. Musik i allmänhet – och idolerna Amy Winehouse och Prince i synnerhet – hjälpte henne genom en stökig tonårsperiod. Hemma hos Strage pratar Jackie Mere om sina tidigare liv, om att befinna sig i ett "fuck shit up mode", om att ångra alla sina tatueringar, om att komma ut som lesbisk, om kärleken till kebab och om när hon struntade i att begå självmord eftersom hon var tvungen att se Katy Perry live.
