In a world that celebrates individuality and self-realisation, the small family or single household seems to be the ultimate ideal. But what if this supposed idyll is actually an illusion? What if our own four walls, which are supposed to offer protection and security, become a silent prison? Indeed, more and more people are reporting feelings of loneliness, even within families.
This is the subject of Jörn Holtz's novel Why two are not enough. The author takes us on a journey through different life and relationship models that are not only inspiring but also provocative. The story follows Ole, an overworked IT specialist whose life is thrown off course by an emotional and physical breakdown. His relationship breaks down over the issue of children - Ole does not want any. After another stroke of fate, he withdraws completely. But when he starts looking for a new start in life, he discovers a community that consciously practices alternative lifestyles.
