For episode 2 of the I Freakin' Love History podcast host Kim Brittingham interviews filmmaker Marta Effinger-Crichlow about her forthcoming documentary Little Sallie Walker that tells the story of how black women played as children. A diverse group of black women, many of whom are sharing their stories for the first time, reveal with vulnerability how they have lived with play. They came of age during the birth and height of World War II, Civil Rights, and Hip Hop. They dared to create worlds where their imaginations soared.
