4:20 pm Harris is the largest County in the state and has a huge number of crime cases, though recent data suggests that it has fallen this year by 6 per cent. As the head of the law enforcement division, District Attorney Kim Ogg has dealt with a huge but overburdened staff, COVID plagued courts and a reduced budget but still managed to reduce the case load. She has recently faced criticism for the way the county jail intake process has been handled. She joins us today to describe her offices’ response.

5:00 pm In 2022, redistricting created the new US House District 7 by dissecting two other districts and Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher was elected to the seat. In this year’s election cycle, Pervez Agwan is challenging her for the seat. He joins us again today to explain his platform and ideas for winning the seat, with the March 5 primary looming on the horizon.

5:20 pm The Democratic Primary race for Ft Bend Commissioners Court Pct 3 is being tightly contested by 5 candidates, four of whom are South Asian. We are joined once again today by one of them, Abrahim Javed, to learn how his race is going, as the March 5 Primary election rolls closer, with early voting starting in 10 days on February 20.
