Regulatory bodies are working to ensure this occurs – work that is imperative for the safety of both passengers and staff. Within this podcast episode, International Airport Review’s editor, Tara Nolan, spoke to Nina Smith, Head of Aviation Security Training and Human Factors at the Civil Aviation Authority, who is working with the industry to raise security standards through innovative thinking. The human factor “can play a significant part”, however “root-cause analysis”, “motivation” and “automation” are also massive players determining the quality of an airport’s security processes.
