This week on the show, Mike Rodriguez is on to talk about continued service to others and his time as a Green Beret. A devoted family-man, Mike's family has been deployed 26 times in support of various wars and conflicts over a combined 47 years of service to our nation. Mike joined the Army and became what is known as an 18D or combat medic within the Green Beret community. Over the course of his nine deployments, he has been blown up, hurt or otherwise injured countless times which ultimately led to his medical retirement from the Army. Now he fills his time in service to the Global War on Terrorism Memorial Foundation as a Board Member as well as an Advisor on the George Bush Presidential Center's Military Service Initiative Council. Never one to be deterred, he also manages to spend time in the forge, creating one-of-a-kind pieces of functional art, some even forged from relics recovered from each site of the 9/11 attacks.
