気候変動は、ソーヴィニヨン・ブランやピノ・ノワールなど、ニュージーランドの世界的に有名なワイン品種にリスクをもたらす一方で、新しい地域でブドウを栽培し、ワインを開発する機会にもなっています。野球のメジャーリーグでも、気温上昇とともに空気の密度が下がった影響で打球がより遠くまで飛ぶようになったことが、メジャーリーグのホームランの本数の増加に繋がっているといるという研究があります。また、毎年夏休みの海外旅行を楽しんでいた人々にとって気候変動が最初にもたらす具体的な影響は夏季休暇を過ごす場所が変わることを意味し、新たなグローバル・ホリデー・デスティネーショ・マップが作り出されつつあります。
