The Philadelphia Phillies win their 4th game in a row and 2nd straight series as they shutout the Astros 5-0 Tuesday night! Aaron Nola tossed 7 scoreless innings and Nick Castellanos came up with the big hit, a 3-run homer in the 3rd!

Nola has now logged two shutout starts wrapped around a 2-run performance against the Braves last week. In total he’s allowed just 2 runs over his last 19 innings, but despite those numbers, this win marked Nola’s first since July 11th against the Dodgers before the all-star break.

Before Castellanos’ 3-run homer in the 3rd, the Phillies looked to be in a little bit of trouble. Austin Hays lead off the inning with a double to left field. Kyle Schwarber followed by flying out to right field. Trea Turner then stepped to the plate and quickly went into an 0-2 hole. It appear Justin Verlander punched out Turner looking with a pitch that caught all of the outside corner of the plate, but home plate umpire Nic Lentz saw it differently. Instead of Turner being the 2nd out, the pitch was called outside. Turner then smacked the next pitch into center field for an RBI single. Luck was on the Phillies side more often than not in the win.
