The Detroit Tigers fell to the Kansas City Royals at Comerica Park on Thursday evening. Detroit's offense struggled, managing only one run on four hits. Kansas City was powered by Vinnie Pasquantino, who hit two home runs and drove in four runs. Bobby Witt Jr. also added a homer in the eighth inning. Starting pitcher Keider Montero took the loss for Detroit, surrendering four runs over seven innings, while Seth Lugo pitched a gem for Kansas City, allowing just one run over eight innings with three strikeouts. The lone Tigers run came in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly from Bligh Madris. With this defeat, the Tigers continue to face challenges in their quest to climb up the standings.
