Who hasn't had a BIC pen, the traditional transparent one with a special tip unlike any other.
The Bic Cristal (also known as the Bic ballpoint pen) is an inexpensive, disposable ballpoint pen produced on a large scale and sold by the French company Société Bic based in Clichy.
History
On October 25, 1945, after World War II, Marcel Bich and Edouard Buffard founded Société PPA (the French acronym stands for "pens, mechanical pencils and accessories") in Clichy, a suburb north of Paris. During the war, Bich had seen a pen manufactured in Argentina by László Bíró and between 1949 and 1950 the Bic Cristal was created by the Décolletage Plastique design team at Société PPA (later Société Bic). Bich invested in Swiss technology capable of cutting and shaping pieces of metal to one hundredth of a millimeter, obtaining a sphere, in stainless steel, of one millimeter that allowed the ink to flow through it freely. After several tests Bich found a thickness of ink that never dripped or clogged and under license from Bíró launched the Cristal in 1950.
