Hello everyone, welcome to this interview Episode with Guest Megan Connor. I start off the Episode with Statistic from the CDC about child and sexual abuse. The information is below for all to access for further research. Megan talks about surviving sex trafficking. We all have a preconceived notion that sex trafficking needs to cross state lines. This is far from the truth. You can be sex trafficked by a neighbor and still have the freedom to go home. The definition of Human trafficking according to “ICMC - What Are the Different Types of Human Trafficking? “Human trafficking is a serious crime that involves the exploitation of individuals for the purpose of forced labor or sexual exploitation. It is a form of modern-day slavery and is one of the most egregious human rights violations.” There are 6 types of human trafficking. The link will take you to all 6 types of Human Trafficking. It is important to educate ourselves in subjects that we can only sympathize and empathize with when we are not well versed on a topic. Megan speaks about her traumas and dealing with her healing. It is important that we seek knowledge and not lean on our own understanding. I have a deep Gratitude to have Megan come on the platform and speak about her experiences. I appreciate you. Megan keeps thriving, refusing to let darkness rob her of her light. Megan’s bio is below. Megan has a book called "I Walked Through Fire to Get Here" and "100 Ways to Practice Self Care" available on Amazon. You do not have to suffer in silence anymore. There are resources below and Megan’s website is chock full of resources and help.

Megan Conner is the mother of six spectacular human beings and a breaker of generational trauma cycles. She survived sex trafficking as a child and spent almost 40 years in other abusive systems before finally learning how to break free. Megan is now an executive at a fuel supply company and teaches others how to identify and exit coercive and abusive relationships and systems. She discusses topics such as healthy parenting, family systems, high-demand religion, and healing from trauma. Her books, "I Walked Through Fire to Get Here" and "100 Ways to Practice Self Care" are available on Amazon.

About Megan Conner: I suffered from depression for many years and tried many diverse types of treatment. One day when I told my therapist how angry I was at one of my abusers, he asked me: "What does that anger say about you?" I was baffled. Up until that point, my focus had all been on the way others had treated me, rather than how that treatment made me feel about myself. The most important thing that I learned in my journey through healing from abuse and trauma is that I must look inward to heal before I can look outward to connect. So, if I asked you to name the most important relationships in your life, how long would it take before you identified your relationship with yourself?
