Retired U.S. Army Lieutenant-General Keith Kellogg, whom U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has named as his pick for special envoy for the war in Ukraine, will visit Kyiv in early January, Reuters said on Tuesday.
The trip is reportedly part of the incoming Trump administration’s efforts to bring a quick resolution to the war in Ukraine. According to Reuters’s sources, Kellogg does not plan to visit Moscow during the trip.
In addition to visiting Kyiv, Kellogg’s team is also working on arranging meetings with leaders in “other European capitals,” including Rome and Paris, the outlet reported. The meeting are expected to focus on “fact-finding” rather than “active negotiations.”
