Due to mixed signals from the Asian markets and pressure on the upper levels in the rupee, there was a fierce tug of war in the Indian markets in the first one hour of the bulls and bears. The Nifty traded in a range of about 100 points, but the Bank Nifty remained strong by about 150 points. After a strong start, the rupee again slipped below the level of 79.
