A letter of love, written by me, for me is what this piece is.

For all I have wanted and waited for was a handwritten note, that letter of love delivered to my hand, filled with the sweetest of prose declaring an undying love. The romanticised feelings expressed, the simple… I love you, nice butt.

I know nowadays I guess a message or text could be seen as a love letter, but there is nothing quite like that tangible piece of writing you slip into your favourite book, stick to your fridge or frame and hang.

What is the way you love love being expressed to you? Is it words spoken? That special touch? Is it the beautiful meal?

For me, the show of love is the love letter.

Self love can be all of these things, showering ourselves with these gifts and tokens of love.

So while I wait (with this massive hint of the letter written to me) should I not be the one to write this?

If I can buy myself flowers, and take my own hand then I wanna write what it means to be loved by me, to me…

When I close my eyes and think of you, feel you, my heart swells for you, my eyes water. I am so proud to know you and love you. Your curiosity, your lust for life, your energy is boundless and immeasurable. Your quest for love has seen you take rocky paths with unstable ground and yet you keep showing all that beautiful heart. You keep loving from that beautiful heart.

Many have tried to love you, many have wanted to. And the few you have chosen to love, have left you feeling unrequited. Your heart has been bruised and broken many times over and yet you still hold it open for all to see, feel and to be loved by you.

You have ridden your long and windy path, have felt in the past that you did not have enough love to go on. When will I arrive? You have asked more than once. I want you to know that love never was far from you. You have always held love close. You have such a capacity for love and I do not think you realise the effect you have on others with your love.

I love you and cannot begin to say how grateful I am that you chose me, to be your soul.

You are beautiful, you are magic and I am so lucky to know and love you. For the hardest paths we have had to walk, you are still here, soft as ever, as loving as ever. Big, big love is here for you, you thought it was only a dream, or a fantastic wish that may never come true. But believe me, big, big love is here for you.

That light you hold within and allow to flow through you, when you are in full flight it is truly a feeling of exquisite expression. There is nothing that is not within your grasp. The big dreams you have, all you have already accomplished, just wait and see what is to come.

Forever you are changing and growing, forever you are learning more about love and the power of love. To love you is an honour, to be loved by you a rare gift. For any that receive your full heart wide open and the love that pours through it have surely been sent from heaven.

I am so honoured to know you, to love you, to be with you every moment of everyday. I never want to forget how special you are, for you are the light that keeps me safe in the wildest storms, you are the start and end of all of my days, you are who I rise higher and higher for. With you, anything is possible.

Your laugh, your smile, that twinkle in your eye, always alludes to something more. More is here for you, more is here. I love you, and I am so thankful for you.

Writing this has had me in tears, I have stopped and started, distracted myself and then finally written the love letter to me. For it can feel uncomfortable to write how you feel about yourself, but I want you my love, my dear reader to try. Write yourself this love letter, write and see what comes through. Take a few breaths and open your heart, ask your heart, your soul, to help you write this letter for you.
