For decades, real estate developers in China had access to cheap money, thanks to the property sector's role in creating household wealth. The policies landed China’s second-largest property developer in a world of trouble. The world’s most indebted property developer, Evergrande found itself in debt to the tune of $310 billion with over a million flats that had already been paid for still yet to be built.
