Through friendship and love of comicbooks, two Latinos from Burbank and Blue Island Illinois came together to start up their own independent comicbook label, Sketch House Press. Ricardo Gonzalez and Enrique Reyes are the publishing and creative minds behind SHP. Since starting in April 2018, SHP has released its first book to great and fortunate success, La Chamba: Street Vendors Comicbook drawn and written by Ricardo. With SHP, these two friends have the chance to create characters and stories in an art form they love so much and spread the joy of comicbooks. Their second book, FREESTYLE: Comicbook Anthology Vol. 1, will be released in late July 2018 with both Ricardo and Enrique as artists on it and joined by eight other very talented artists. Radio One Chicago airs live every Thursday night on WLUW-FM from 6p to 8p cst.
