Syc Minded didirikan oleh Oddie Octaviadi dan Rudi Soedjarwo di kota San Diego, Amerika Serikat. Band ini pertama kali meluncurkan album di tahun 1995 di Amerika Serikat, dan sempat mengalami hiatus.Hal itu disebabkan kesibukan Rudi sebagai seorang sutradara dan Oddie sang vocalis dengan pekerjaannya di bidang digital dan komunikasi. Namun Rudi dan Oddie kembali bergabung dan aktif bermusik kembali sejak di akhir 2018 di mana single berjudul “Peace Within” digarap.
