More about Monique : Monique, 25, was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. She followed her love of writing into becoming a certified Freelance Journalist. In 2011, at the age of 14 she started writing but only started sharing her writing with the world in 2021. She writes as a way to chronicle her journey through life, with the hope that someone might relate. Monique is always looking to try new things and often finds herself on adventures because of the same. She cites her family (including her furbabies as her pillars of strength). Monique firmly believes that she can do anything she sets her mind to.
Broken Instruments :
Most people know what it's like to feel utterly broken. While, the reason may differ, what remains the same is the feeling that that period in your life would never end.
Sure, it can take a long time for you to properly deal with this. Maybe because you don't see any way out of your situation perhaps you've become accustomed to the brokenness you feel.
You should know that whatever pain or hurt you experienced is completely valid but it won't last forever. So if you see someone struggling or becoming increasingly distant, reach out to them. They might be reluctant or unable to ask for help because they think that no one will understand. However, it's often the person you least expect to be able to relate that knows exactly how you feel.
Psalm 34:18 says, " The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; HE reaches those whose spirits are crushed."
Everyone experiences loss. Everyone knows what it's like to feel sad. But can a broken instrument still create music? The way I see it, we are all broken instruments but in GOD's hands, a harmonious melody can still be created.
Listen to this lyric:
"All the pieces on the ground. I shattered all the dreams I thought I found. YOU out me back together. I need your grace for my flaws. GOD, I'm broken in this mess I made. I need YOU to restore me."
This is a line from the song, Broken by Lecrae & Kari Jobe.
Living comes with bumps and bruises. That's part of life, but anytime you get an opportunity... choose to life. And continue choosing it every single day. Always remember that nothing lasts forever. What's broken today can be renewed tomorrow.
